OER Grapevine:Community Portal

Community portal is a portal to the community of OER Grapevine Users, an action based how to get involved Welcome page, or it could be this if we make it so. That's its function on Wikipedia.org and the reason it is part of the MediaWiki default install. It's a kind of "let's write some encyclopedia articles" portal. Main Page on the other hand, at least at Wikipedia, is more a "let's read some encyclopedia articles" portal. Not sure OER Grapevine will need to have separate pages for readers and writers but here we are, you and me. So... write something (on topic of course)! :-)

If you would like to write on the wiki it is friendly and helpful, although not strictly required, to create a user account to facilitate folks getting to know you and you finding your pages later.

Upload file in toolbox at left is now working. Try uploading a self portrait for your User page! See Roger's for an example of how a User page can look (click his edit tab to grab some wiki markup if you need help). :-)

Talk@OERGrapevine.org discusses, among other things:

  • announce projects
  • coordinate efforts among projects
  • identify unfilled niches and help existing projects differentiate (when possible) to bring many different types of educators into the fold
  • discuss common challenges
